Interior design trends 2022

Interior design trends change every year, and this year there are set to be some of the most unique trends yet. In this article we take a look at some of the predicted interior design trends 2022 including vegan and low VOC decor as well as bold colour schemes.

Interior design trends 2022- Vegan

Vegan interior design is a trend that has been growing year by year, but what actually is it? Vegan interior design involves using fabrics and other materials that are not sourced from animals or animal by products. Unfortunately, what many people don’t realise is that lots of materials used around the home contain non vegan ingredients. As awareness increases and more and more people decide to live a more vegan lifestyle, the popularity of vegan interior design including vegan paint is predicted to increase even more in 2022.

Interior design trends 2022- Low VOC

Another one of our favourite interior design trends 2022 predicted to really take off is low VOC products. VOC stands for ‘volatile organic compounds’ and is a chemical that is often found in household products and furniture, this includes paint, cleaning products, carpets and more. When VOCs are released into the air they can have negative effects on both our health and the environment which is why we think it's great that low VOC products are set to make a real impact in interior design this year. Some examples of the risks of VOCs in the home and the effects of short term exposure include:

  • Headaches
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness / light-headedness
  • Skin reactions
  • Eye, nose and throat irritation

Here at Victory Colours we have created a specially formulated paint range that consists of entirely low VOC paints in a variety of stunning colours. Many standard wall paints contain VOCs which often leads to nasty side effects such as strong odours, dizziness, headaches and nausea. Fortunately, with our paint, you get to avoid all of that. Here are some more benefits of Victory Colours low VOC paint:

  • Ultra low odour
  • Toxic free
  • Vegan and cruelty free
  • Eco friendly
  • Washable properties

Interior design trends 2022- Colour schemes

In one of our previous articles we discussed the colour trends 2022, overall, the main theme is bright and bold colours. In spring, yellow is set to make its mark in the world of interior design, from dramatic feature walls to yellow touches in furnishings such as cushions and curtains. Colour psychology studies suggest that yellow evokes feelings of happiness, creativity and warmth. Another colour set to trend this year is blue, in both bright shades and more darker shades. Check out our range of yellow and blue paint and be on trend this year when it comes to interior design.
